GENERAL DETAILS:

In this trade, the trainees are trained primarily to perform various types of mechanical operations like, Marking, Sawing, Drilling, Filing with different types and grades of files and Welding as well as different types of operations that may be performed through a Lathe Machine.

Special emphasis is given on the nature of skill and expertise required by the employers for the selection of the topics of practical assignments. In order to make the training most effective, the theoretical issues are thoroughly discussed in the classrooms and thereafter relevant practical assignments are allotted in the workshop. Every suitable & cautious step is undertaken to avoid accidents and injuries at the workshop.

The job performed by each student is examined on the basis of steps followed to perform the job, quality of work, time consumption to complete the same, etc. The performing skills of the students are considered to play the most crucial role for being selected in any selection process. Hence, special attention is given by the instructors to complete the assignments in the workshop.

ELIGIBILITY

Passed 10th Class examination under 10+2 System of education or its equivalent.

ADMISSION PROCESS

a) AGE LIMIT: Any candidate of 14 – 35 years of age as on date of start of admission process are eligible for admission in HMP VTI

b) SELECTION: Selection of candidates for admission in HMP Vocational Training Institute, start well in advance of Two Months in NOV-DEC & MAY-JUN from the commencement of each Training Programme. Admission should be completed by the date of starting of the Training Programmes. Where it may be necessary to continue admission beyond the date of commencement of the Training Programme for filling vacant seats.

c) SELECTION OF THE CANDIDATE: Selection of candidates is done by a personal interview conducted by the relevant Instructor of each trade.

d) PROSPECTUS / PROFORMA FOR ADMISSION: Performa for admission may be obtained from the respective HMP Vocational Training Institute conducting the training programmes.

e) START OF TRAINING PROGRAMMES: We are conducting two training programmes every year in HMPVTI first training programme starts from JANUARY To JUNE and the second training programme starts from JULY To DECEMBER every year.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES AFTER THIS COURSE:

One can pursue higher studies like diploma in engineering after completing the engineering trading course in HMP VTI. Many Industries / Companies accept HMP VTI technicians only as apprentices and they train the candidates for a period of 6 months. However the period of training & the admission of the candidates may vary from one company to the other. These candidates may be considered suitable for employment only after the training period. We have their own placement cells and candidates after the completion of their trades may be directly recruited by the companies.
 
HMP VTI qualified Fitter Trade candidates can apply for jobs in either Private Sector or Public Sector depending on the trades they are equipped with. It is worthwhile to mention that Fitter Trade is also having a very strong need in the whole marketplace.
   
Fitter Trade technicians can find job opportunities in many Industries / Companies. The Fitter Trade Technicians have good scope both in India and abroad also. Job opportunities for Fitters are enormous in on shore and off shore companies such as Oil and Gas Refineries, Factories, Ship-Yards etc.
